The accidental photographer
Taschen has released a new book titled Alice Springs – The Paris MEP Show that details the exceptional photographic work by June Newton, or better known in the industry as Alice Springs. Wife of famed photographer Helmut Newton, June was a last-minute stand-in for one of her husband's projects, when he fell ill. Despite her inexperience, June took over the shoot and with one single snap, began her own successful journey as a photographer and later, even becoming her husband's artistic director.
The book provides an insight into some of her most iconic works, particularly the time when she focused on the diverse Los Angeles societies from the glitz of Hollywood to the punk culture in the '80s. Take a peek at Alice Springs' outstanding portfolio here...
