The Greater Middle East Unveiled at Dubai Opera Gallery
A curation of contemporary and modern art
Showcasing a collection of modern and contemporary works from the Middle East, Dubai Opera Gallery will be featuring a careful curation of artists from a range of countries and cities, including Damascus, Cairo, Baghdad, Jerusalem, and Istanbul. Embracing the contemporary art scene, the selected artists will be working with a myriad of different media, including the more traditional oil on canvas, as well as innovative takes on sculptural and photographic works, and even car paint on cardboard.
Artists included in the lineup are: Arzu Akgun, Yousef Ahmad, Hossein Fassih, Samira Alikhanzadeh, Mahi Binebine, Vahid Danaeifar, Morteza Darehbaghi, Reza Derakshani, Mohammad Ehsai, Ali Esmaeilipour, Golnaz Fathi, with many more names to be added.
Launched in 2008, Dubai Opera Gallery is based in the city's DIFC district, providing a hub for local artists in the region. Gallery Manager, Annamaria Bersani spoke about the exhibition, saying:
"In recent years, there has been a growing interest in Modern and Contemporary Art in the Middle East, since the region's vibrant and eclectic scene influenced a new generation of creative artists. Opera Gallery is committed to provide exceptional art from both local and global artists and with this exhibit we aim to cater to our clientele some of the most sought-after artworks from the region."
'The Greater Middle East Unveiled' exhibition is one for the art lovers in Dubai, and will run from April 24 to May 6, 2014.
