The world's most popular contemporary art museum has opened the doors to its stunning new extension. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the details...

Tate Modern has finally unveiled its new extension. Designed by renowned architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron, the building is a twisting pyramid tower that has been touted as the most significant cultural building to open in Britain in recent times. With the new extension, Tate Modern has dramatically increased its display space by 60 percent, which includes a specially curated live arts area as well as a 360-degree viewing terrace on level 10, all combining to give visitors a unique experience.

While Tate Modern is complete, it will officially be opened to the public on June 17, with the unveiling commemorated by special commissions as well as live performances including a dance performance by Solange Knowles.
