Moscow's Garage Museum of Contemporary Arts opens in brand new building
In Gorky Park
This month Moscow welcomes the newly relocated and redesigned Garage Museum of Contemporary Arts at its shiny new purpose built home, in Gorky Park. Now the museum's exteriors and interiors are even more befitting to exhibit the best and brightest works from Russian and international contemporary artists.
The new building sets an impressive tone before entering with a state of the art façade formed of a translucent double-layer of polycarbonate that is raised two meters from the ground to visually reconnect the Museum's interior to the park. The 5,400 square metre interiors will house not only ample exhibition space but also an auditorium and a number of spaces dedicated to education.
