Karl Lagerfeld's key pieces
Works of wearable art
Karl Lagerfeld created 75 artistic objects specifically to accompany Chanel's SS14 show at Paris' Grand Palais. Paintings, sculptures and installations, from being small in size to larger-than-life, all carry traditional symbols of the label – and each piece is inspired by the works of Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, Claes Oldenburg and Marcel Duchamp. The classic quilted surface, house interlocked 'C' logo and Chanel № 5 signature style are all there, including a remarkable robot with a bottle of № 5 perfume as its body. This is Karl's kind of art, and no mistake.
