Hollywood's elite gathers for the Hammer Museum’s 12th annual Gala in the Garden
With generous support from Bottega Veneta
The exclusive sold-out Gala, which raised $2.5 million for the Hammer's renowned exhibitions and free public programs, was held on Saturday evening at the Californian Museum's serene outdoor courtyard and honored artist Mark Bradford and musician Joni Mitchell.
The star-studded event was sponsored by Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta, and saw tribute speeches given by bestselling author and art historian Sarah Lewis and producer and screenwriter Cameron Crowe to the iconic honourees.
Musician Sia also entertained guests with a three-song performance after dinner, while Hammer Museum Director Ann Philbin and Marco Bizzarri, President of Bottega Veneta and CEO of Kering 'Luxury – Couture & Leather Goods division', mingled with guests while exploring the Hammer's exhibitions.
With Bottega's creative director Tomas Maier – who was meant to be the co-chair of the evening – bowing out this year last minute, a flock of notable Hollywood stars took his place, including Julia Roberts, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana, Kate Bosworth, Will Ferrell, January Jones, Orlando Bloom, Jack Black, and many more.
