Emirati art show: 'Off the Rails'
A public exhibition
The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi's new luxury shopping and dining destination, is hosting an exclusive showcase of the artistic talents of four contemporary female Emirati artists entitled 'Off the Rails', in collaboration with regional art magazine Brownbook.
Located in The Great Room, the public exhibition consists of a rotating display of each artist's work, complemented by interactive activities to display carefully curated pieces by the four emerging female Emirati artists, each of whom are currently based in the UAE. Leila Al Marashi, Alia Al Shamsi, Maitha Al Mehairbi and Noor Al Suweidi, share inspiration in their Emirati roots – and in turn, each piece of work is grounded in the traditions and culture of the UAE history.
The diverse exhibition will transcend all forms of art featuring art sketches from Leila Al Marashi to amateur photography from the students of Alia Al Shamsi. Over the four-week long duration of the exhibit there will be workshops, tours and Q&A sessions with the artists.
Jessica Mason, Project Manager at Brownbook said: "We are very excited to be part of this activation. Supporting our network of local and regional artists is key to what we do. We are developing our work in Abu Dhabi further with the opening of The Space, our latest social hub and are thrilled to be working with The Galleria on Al Maryah Island now."
The exhibition runs until December 7.
