Dubai Opera: Details you didn't know
Emaar Properties is set to launch Dubai Opera, the emirate's first multi-discipline performing arts platform this year. While construction continues, Buro 24/7 Middle East goes inside the venue to bring you new details of the arts destination, which will include an acoustic concert hall as well as an open floor area covering 2000sqm.
Architecturally, the design of the Dubai Opera was inspired by traditional dhows and it features an all-glass foyer, which flows from the theatre to the plaza and then onwards to the stunning downtown Burj Lake. "An architectural masterpiece, it draws design inspiration from our own heritage, while the focus on bringing exclusive and accomplished performing arts places it on the league of the world's finest theatres," said Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties.
As a vital component of The Opera District project, Dubai Opera will host various art and cultural performances including operas, ballets, films, comedies as well as musical concerts. "Dubai Opera adds a new dimension to cultural entertainment in the city, while adding value to the surrounding hospitality, retail, touristic and residential developments," continued Alabbar. "With this sterling addition to the city, we are supporting our leadership's focus on establishing Dubai as a 'city of happy, creative and empowered people'."
Dubai Opera will be located at Downtown Dubai and it's scheduled to open its doors later this year.
