Christie's new 'James Christie Room' in Hong Kong
To launch on February 28
The world's largest fine arts auction house, Christie's, will soon be opening the 'James Christie Room' on the 22nd floor of Alexandra House in Hong Kong. The new 250 square metre state-of-the-art gallery is named after Christie's founder and presents magnificent views of Victoria Harbour.
The scheduled opening of the space is on February 28, launching 30 years after Christie's opened its small representative office in Hong Kong. The space will hold unique exhibitions, charity events, educational Art Forums, private sales and special category auctions including a special exhibition organised for the opening showcasing "the best of the best" from a variety of collecting fields from Christie's approaching auctions in Hong Kong, London and New York, as well as having artworks for private sale.
The exhibition will display a mixture of different art, from Asian 20th century, contemporary, post-war, impressionist, modern, Chinese ceramics, Chinese paintings and more, as well as jewellery and watches.
