Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed opens the Abu Dhabi Art Fair

The UAE capital's artistic haven

On November 5, Abu Dhabi saw the opening of the sixth annual edition of Abu Dhabi Art – a creative fair which hosts 50 galleries and 600 artists exhibiting works from around the world

Under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, this week saw the inauguration of this year's Art Abu Dhabi at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi.

Reflecting the city it's evolving in, developing its own distinct identity, as well expanding and maturing the emirate's cultural scene, the opening Abu Dhabi Art ceremony was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, and a number of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the UAE.

"Helping foster a viable cultural and intellectual eco-system, Abu Dhabi Art provides a stimulating environment, which, through direct exposure to some of the world's leading artists, academics and gallerists, enables the audiences and the communities to explore the creative vitality of Abu Dhabi's maturing cultural landscape," said Rita Aoun-Abdo, Executive Director, Culture Sector, TCA Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Art will be running from November 5-8 at Manarat Al Saadiyat and is open from 15:00-22:00 on weekdays and 14:oo-22:00 at the weekend. Take a look at our special guide here.
