Hatem Alakeel launches a new podcast, ‘Gems of Arabia’

BURO. Middle East contributor, Hatem Alakeel, launches a new audio-visual podcast that focuses on Saudi Arabia and the Middle East...

A prominent personality in the Middle East, Hatem Alakeel, has launched a new audio-visual podcast, inspired by his Gems of Arabia column. Hailed as a design genius and crowned the king of thobes, Hatem’s new show will focus on talent in the Middle East, particularly those in Saudi Arabia, as well as give insight into the minds currently shaping the region.

“After three years of writing the ‘Gems of Arabia’ column; I am thrilled to present to you this next step – one with inspiring personalities who are breaking the cliches, captivating us, changing the narrative and elevating the Arab landscape,” explains Hatem Alakeel.

As to what you can expect from the podcasts, Hatem’s topics of discussion vary from “fashion and entrepreneurship to art, culture, heritage and beyond. But more importantly, I will focus on this very important new humane, humble and more approachable shift that most creative industries are making! A special thanks to all of our esteemed guests for taking the time to make it on our show and of course, BURO. Middle East for giving me that platform with my column to help bring it to life. My column will continue as writing is still very much a passion for mine.”

Hatem has been BURO. Middle East’s voice from Saudi Arabia for years now. His successful Gems of Arabia column covers subjects that truly focus on boundary-breaking topics and we only wish him the best on his new chapter of Gems of Arabia.

In case you missed the first episode, you can watch it below as he discusses how we can empower our creative communities post-pandemic with Princess Noura Alfaisal and Rania Masri.

The podcast will be posted every Wednesday. Episode two will feature Diala Makki and Nada Baeshen as they discuss the human shift of influence. Stay tuned!
