New York Fashion Week Beauty: Jason Wu SS15
Keeping it simple
Super-pretty florals and chic minimalism were the order of the day for Jason Wu's models walking the SS15 runway this week in New York, matched by simple but effective beauty techniques to compliment the looks on show.
Hair was parted to the side and collected in a volume of waves, with stylist Odile Gilbert inspired by images of Hollywood 40s curls – specifically Lauren Bacall's. She used Kérastase Mousse Bouffante and Ciment Thermique to dry hair, using a hairdryer to set. Then, using a thin section comb creating a side parting, securing with a pin.
'Easy glamour' was the brief for make-up artist Diane Kendal, who worked for the show using Lancôme, naturally. The inspiration was the actress Charlotte Rampling, and her glowing skin was achieved using Absolue L'Extrait Serum Ultimate Rejuvenating Concentrate Elixir and spray Ultimate Radiance Mist, after which Lancôme's Nude Miracle Liquid to Powder Make-up was applied, follwed by concealer.
Eyelids were shaded with Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolour Base in Sienne and pencil Le Crayon Khôl in the rich brown tone, Black Coffee. Lips remained virtually untouched, with just L'Absolu Rouge lipstick in the shade La Base.
The nails were taken care of by Deborah Lippmann, who chose a whitish hue – Lancôme Vernis Beige Romance. "This is a very fresh, clean image, ready to manicure that does not look fully finished," she commented.
