All in the details: Fairytale looks at Dolce & Gabbana
Fresh faced looks fit for princesses, and knights in shining armour
Staged in a dramatic, forest-themed fairytale setting, models at the Dolce & Gabbana AW14 had the responsibility to act the part of fashion heroines. However never fear, with the combined expertise of make-up artist Pat McGrath and hair stylist Guido Palau, beautifying the models into whimsical characters was achievable.
In this land – where princesses and knights in shining armour rule the runway – flawless skin was essential. McGrath, working with cream, powder and concealer, sought to achieve a very smooth, radiant and natural tone, painting eyelids with a soft shimmer hue, then enhanced with black kohl flicks. To add to the fresh-faced glow, cheekbones were given a touch of gloss, while lips were brushed with a touch of pink glitter.
Furthering the Dolce & Gabbana princess look, hair stylist Guido Palau created low braided bun styles. Hair was partially pulled back, but Palau left a few strands loose to enhance a suitably dreamy ethereal feel.
