SS14 Beauty report: Prada's watercolours
It's all in the detail
Smooth flowing hair with severe side partings – reminiscent of young French actresses in the 1960s – each splashed with cheerful watercolor brush strokes on the upper eyelids and translucent pink lipstick. Miuccia Prada's SS14 fashion and beauty inspiration took a contemporary look, accompanied by bright coats with a round collars and frankly, funny socks.
The idea of combining the 1960s with modern art, cementing an alliance of spring colour, seems particularly lovely to us here at Buro 24/7. The images captured behind the scenes of the show are beautifully punctuated by blue, yellow, green and purple shadows, similar to watercolour paints, as were the most standout dresses featured in the show.
Stand down red lips and kohl, it's time for a more subtle attack when it comes to warpaint.
