Pharrell Williams reveals details of his new fragrance, 'Girl'
This week, Pharrell Williams revealed the unique bottle and what kind of scent notes to expect from his new unisex fragrance 'Girl', which he created in a collaborative state with Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons.
"There should be no lines — I learned that from Comme des Garçons," said Williams, "Hence, GIRL — for girls and boys. We just found another way to say unisex," added Williams, whose scent will launch in London on September 1 at Dover Street Market.
The fragrance feature notes of neroli, lavender and white pepper, some iris, styrax and violet, and base notes of vetiver, patchouli, cedarwood and sandalwood.
The innovative bottle, logo and packaging have been designed by House + Holme, featuring quirky, cartoonish artwork by Williams' friend and artist Kaws. The 100-ml. bottle is priced at $135, while a 10ml. travel size version costs $30.
Distributed by Comme des Garçons Parfum, the fragrance was created by Williams and Christian Astuguevieille, creative director of Comme des Garçons Parfums, with Antoine Lie of Takasago.
"When I do a collaboration with brands, I do them with notable masters, so that I can experience the true purpose of collaboration, which is to learn. So I only work with masters," the musician said.
