MAC Cosmetics to sponsor Milan Fashion Week
And become the main partner of the Next Generation competition
Beauty giant MAC Cosmetics have announced a new three-year deal, becoming the official beauty sponsor of Milan Fashion Week (MFW). The new partnership will also see MAC back Next Generation, a contest that selects and supports several young designers to provide invaluable mentorship with the help of industry professionals.
Soon, for the first time, the Next Generation competition will take place online and will explore the designers' experiences as they compete for the coveted prize. Four talented finalists will be narrowed down to one winner by a jury and the winning designer will be featured in Elle magazine with Chiara Ferragni, Italian model and Blonde Salad blogger, wearing the winning piece.
Group president of the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc John Demsey said: "Almost since the brand's inception, MAC has made fashion designers a priority, from makeup artistry to product collaborations, and we have, for many years, supported [individual] Italian fashion houses backstage during Milan Fashion Week," explaining that MAC have long been sponsoring shows in both Milan and globally for over two decades, “With our new partnership with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, MAC now formalizes its continued commitment to Italian designers both established and up-and-coming.”
