Gucci Cosmetics prepares to launch
With a little help from Pat McGrath
Gucci Cosmetics is set to launch internationally in September, offering eye, face, lip, nail and skin preparation products influenced by its fashion range.
It has been produced under a licensing deal with P&G Prestige, and will be fronted by Charlotte Casiraghi in a huge advertising campaign.
Creative Director Frida Giannini has said while the project officially began four years ago, "the idea was much earlier – I've always wanted to do a cosmetics line for Gucci. I feel good, and confident: I'm very satisfied with the final result that we were able to achieve, to perfection...."
She has also tried "absolutely every product and colour" the house has created, and is confident they have finally found the right palette, something she achieved by scouring the nearly century-old label's archives. Giannini also cites style icons such as Lauren Hutton, Jerry Hall, Jane Birkin and Veruschka as inspiration, and has called upon the expertise of esteemed make-up artist Pat McGrath for her expertise.
