The 2018 Golden Globes: Best beauty looks

Here's what caught our eye
Now that the Golden Globes have officially come to an end, we're zooming in on the best beauty looks worn by the A-list on the red carpet...

This year’s momentous Golden Globes ceremony saw a star-studded red carpet and a whole host of well-deserved winners take home awards. Now that the first major award ceremony of the season has come to an end, there’s only one thing left to digest: the best beauty looks.

All-black ensembles stole the spotlight, thanks to the new Time’s Up initiative led by 300 of Hollywood’s top names, and provided the perfect base for some standout beauty looks. Here are a few of our favourites…

1. Alicia Vikander

The Louis Vuitton brand ambassador, who sported a dress by the French label, managed to conquer both elegance and simplicity with her minimal beauty look. Her light brown locks were tightly brought together in a low bun with a centre parting (perfect for showing off her Bulgari earrings) which was then complemented with an all-natural, bronzed beauty look.

2. Katherine Langford

Katherine Langford made her Golden Globes red carpet debut this year, going for old Hollywood glamour. The star of 13 Reasons Why — which was ranked as one of the most watched programs in the UAE for 2017 — honoured the Time’s Up initiative by wearing a long gown embellished with crystals. On the beauty front, the actress pulled her wavy hair to one side, fastened with a sparkling barette. The dark smokey eye added cool, unexpected edge to her otherwise soft beauty look, too.

3. Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel

Known for ruling the red carpet as one half of one of Hollywood’s hottest couples — her husband Justin Timberlake recently revealed a new album and release date Jessica Biel stunned at this year’s ceremony. Worn with a retro-inspired up-do, Biel’s bubblegum pink  lipstick shade left us wanting to shop for similar shades.

4. Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie

The Australian beauty opted for a Gucci gown, Roger Vivier shoes and Tiffany & Co. jewellery for last night’s celebrations. Her beauty look you might ask? Simple and polished with her blonde locks styled in loose waves, light eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow, complete with a pop of plum lipstick that is, perfect for the season.

5. Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobbie Brown

Millie Bobby Brown is easily one of the coolest 13-year-olds around. Wearing a black mini with a low-cut back, the Stranger Things star focused attention on her braided bun updo, created by talented hairstylist Blake Erik (fans were convinced that the style refelcted her first initial or formed an ’11’ in reference to her character). On the face front, make-up artist Kelsey Deenihanusing created a jet-black cat eye using Avon’s True Color Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Blackest Black and True Colour Wide Awake Mascara.

6. Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens

Oui, Oui! Vanessa Hudgens channelled Parisian glamour at the Golden Globes in a gorgeous Chanel gown, which she accessorised with a chic bob and dangling pearl earrings. Her lids were covered with light pink eyeshadow, which perfectly matched her softly bronzed cheeks and lipstick shade.

7. Emma Stone

Emma Stone

Emma Stone never puts a foot wrong on the red carpet and this year was no different. Stone’s effortless updo was as elegant as her Louis Vuitton gown and her make-up, complete with a soft smokey eye and light purple lip, perfectly complemented the beauty’s olive green eyes.
