Six beauty brands by celebrity stylists to shop now

Up your beauty game this summer
Celebrity makeup artists, stylists and skincare specialists are known for their A-list touch. Here's how you can get their glam at home...

Walking in to your local Sephora or department store beauty floor can be a daunting task —with so many brands and products to choose from, it’s nearly impossible to know which ones actually merit parting with your money. However, one guarantee of a good product is that it’s come straight from the kit of a professional. Over the past few years, celebrity makeup artists, hair stylists and skincare specialists have bottled their secret formulas that were once only available to the A-list and brought them to the public. Here, we round up six of the best professional beauty lines to help you get celebrity skin and hair, pronto.

1. Charlotte Tilbury

It’s hard to believe that it’s only been three years since Charlotte Tilbury opened her flagship store in London. Since then, the British beauty mogul’s brand has skyrocketed in popularity across the globe. Case in point: her first store in Dubai opened this morning and there were long lines to get in.

The makeup artist (who just made the Queen’s Birthday Honours list) has a strong celebrity client list including Nicole Kidman, Emily Ratajkowski, Lady Kitty Spencer, Salma Hayek, Elsa Hosk and Amal Clooney (who complimented her Stella McCartney royal wedding dress with a full face using Tilbury’s beauty products). Her ethos is to help women build on their natural beauty with easy-to-use products that enhance, rather than mask, features. Her game-changing products include the Transformeyes and Exaggereyes palettes, as well as the brand’s iconic Legendary Lashes mascara.

Charlotte Tilbury’s beauty products are now available at her new boutique in The Dubai Mall, in The Avenues, Kuwait, Doha Festival City, Qatar and online at CharlotteTilbury.com.

2. Pat McGrath

Pat McGrath has been taking the beauty industry by storm for years but it’s only been in the last two years that she’s brought her runway-worthy products to consumers via her eponymous brand. Her unique approach to creating adventurous and innovative makeup can be seen on countless runways (including Prada) across the world and her looks are full of bright, bold hues, lots of metallics and holographic effects.

McGrath’s celebrity portfolio is as strong as her runway credentials, boasting the likes of Yara Shahidi, Katherine Langford, Rita Ora, Zendaya and Nicki Minaj. The beauty wizard’s most popular collections are Metalmorphosis 005 and Dark Star 006

Pat McGrath Labs is available on Net-a-Porter.com.

3. Ouai

Jen Atkin is the woman behind some of the world’s most enviable hair — the Kardashian clan and the Hadids are regulars. Two years ago, Atkin launched her own haircare line that was created to save women who were constantly on the go time via easy-to-use products that were packed with good-for-your-hair ingredients so your mane game was Walk of Fame-strong.

Her most popular products? The Ouai Wave Spray (her messy waves are one of her most famed styles) and the latest Ouai Sun of a Beach ombre spray that’s giving us early-Noughties vibes in the coolest of ways.

Ouai is available at Sephora boutiques and online at Sephora.ae.

4. Oribe

Just under ten years ago, Oribe haircare was born. Since then, it has expanded into fragrances, makeup, skincare and even hair tools and accessories, due to the immense success it has enjoyed. Victoria Beckham was recently spotted getting her mane tamed by the brand’s Global Ambassador, James Pecis, who styled the singer-turned-designer’s hair using Oribe’s Maximista, Featherbalm and Balm d’Or.

All of its haircare products provide your hair with luxury care thanks to its rich ingredients. Plus, the packaging is seriously pretty. If you want to splurge on the brand’s must-have products, you can’t go past the Gold Lust Dry Shampoo, the Apres Beach Wave and Shine spray, as well as the Restyling Spray.

Oribe is available on Ounass.com and in Bloomingdale’s stores.

5. Nurse Jamie

Love the idea of being able to give yourself a celebrity skin treatment from the comfort of your own home? Nurse Jamie allows you to do just that. Recently in Dubai for Beauty Pop DXB, Nurse Jamie is the woman behind some of the world’s most famous faces including Emily Ratajkowski, Ashley Graham and Kate Hudson and has earned a name for herself with her innovative skin care routines and game-changing beauty gadgets. With 20 years of experience under her belt, her products aim to stimulate cell health and help diminish lines.

Nurse Jamie is available on Net-a-Porter.com.

6. Kate Somerville

Kate Somerville’s skincare solutions deliver some of the best results on the market. Her three clinic essentials that focus on exfoliating, boosting and moisturising, are all part of her extensive edit of products that have been created to tackle fine lines, acne marks and tired, lacklustre skin.

Beauty lovers and celebrities alike continuously rave about Somerville’s products. In the lead-up to the 2018 Met Gala, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley used the brand’s products and other clients include Whitney Port, Sarah Jessica Parker and Sophia Bush. Her acne-fighting range is particularly potent and perfect for those with troublesome skin.

Kate Somerville’s skincare products are available online at Katesomerville.com.
