Backstage beauty: Go behind the scenes at Dior's Cruise '18 show
Get the look with Peter Philips
With Dior's Cruise '18 collection show taking place in the desert terrains of Los Angeles, the brand's Creative and Image Director Peter Philips opted for the ultimate all-natural beauty look. A continuing trend from previous runways for the maison — think its Haute Couture Spring/Summer '17 collection in Japan and its Fall/Winter '17 show in Paris — the natural look is created with the label's coveted pigments from collections including the Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation, Diorskin Nude Air Loose Powder, Diorshow Brow Styler and Rouge Dior lipsticks.
"I wanted to create a luminous, very sun-kissed look that extends from the top of the cheekbones down towards the neck," explained Philips. "To get this soft, warm tone, I used Rouge Dior Lipstick in Ready n°642 as blush, because its slightly earthy brick shade evokes the colours of the desert. The shows are like a laboratory, and playing with the products like this is typical of what happens backstage, where you take liberties to create specific effects. To finish, a touch of Flash Luminizer Radiance Booster Pen n°002 was applied to areas that catch the light and the look is finished with a light veil of Diorskin Nude Air Loose Powder."
