TIKTOK ADDS NEW FEATURES TO BOOST DIGITAL WELLBEING.

Hello screen detox.
American Politician Joan Welsh once said, a man’s health can be judged by which he takes two at a time, pills or stairs, today TikTok adds your digital wellbeing to them.

We live in an age of innovation where digital technology is providing solutions to problems just when we think we need them. We see it everyday as we try to maintain and craft a healthy relationship with all the innovation around us. In order to ensure digital experience play a positive role in how people express themselves and connect, TikTok announced improvements to their screen time controls with more custom options, and here’s how:

  • New screen time controls for everyone.

You can now set your own customized screen time for each day of the week and set a schedule to mute notifications. The app is also rolling out a sleep reminder to help when you want to be offline at night with a pop-up that will remind you when it’s time to log-off.

  • Introducing new default settings for teen accounts and more parental controls.

Every account below age 18 will be set to a 60-minute daily screen time limit. If the limit is reached teens will be prompted to enter a passcode to continue watching. TikTok has also announced the addition of three new features to family pairing: ‘custom daily screen time limits’ to help parents customize the daily time for their teens, ‘screen time dashboard’ which provides summaries of time on the app and ‘mute notifications’ that enables parents to set a schedule to mute notifications for their teen.
