Men’s and Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week is cancelled due to COVID-19

The virus continues to disrupt the fashion industry as two other major events scheduled for the summer has been cancelled...

The coronavirus pandemic has no clear sight of slowing down and in response to combat the global virus, the fashion industry is coming together to do their part to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Now, a release sent to the fashion industry is the result of the latest events to have been cancelled or postponed.

France’s Fédération writes: “In light of the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic worldwide, strong decisions are required to ensure the safety and health of houses, their employees, and everyone working in our industry. The Fédération is actively working with its members on possible alternatives.”

With that being said, the board of Directors of the Fédération de la Haute Couture de la Mode has announced that the summer fashion weeks — including Men’s and Haute Couture Fashion Week slated for June and July.

Will this mean that next season, we’ll be seeing more digital alternatives to the runway shows? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
