DISNEY UNLEASHES THE ‘CREATE 100 CAMPAIGN’ IGNITING CREATIVITY TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF DISNEY STORYTELLING.

Once upon a 100 times...
To kick it off, Disney marks the inauguration by contributing a generous $1 million to Make-A-Wish, ensuring the fulfillment of transformative wishes for children facing critical illnesses.

The campaign includes a constellation of extraordinary minds from the realms of fashion, music, art, and beyond, comprising both eminent visionaries and budding talents, come together to offer a spectacular array of donated artworks, items, and exclusive experiences. These masterpieces, infused with their intimate bonds to the captivating tales and iconic characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century, converge to weave a magical tapestry of dreams, all in the name of granting the heartfelt wishes of Make-A-Wish® beneficiaries.

Disney worked on a spellbinding collaboration with Virgil Abloh Securities to unveil a mesmerizing 6-foot structural sculpture of the beloved Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey from the enchanting realm of Disney’s Fantasia. This larger-than-life masterpiece, aptly named ‘Structural Sorcerer, a Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Sculpture,’ emerged into existence through the combined artistry of Disney and the ingenious ALASKA ALASKA design team.

Drawing inspiration from the everlasting legacy of the late visionary, Virgil Abloh, the sculpture pays a heartwarming tribute to his groundbreaking work on the grid furniture series and the iconic Mickey Mouse illustration, specially crafted in 2018 to celebrate the timeless charm of Mickey Mouse on his 90th birthday. Guided by Shannon Abloh, the late artist’s wife, the sculpture weaves together elements of nostalgia, innovation, and whimsy, reflecting the essence of creativity that knows no bounds. This awe-inspiring artwork finds its stage at the prestigious Royal College of Art (RCA) in London, where it casts its enchantment on all who behold its magical presence.

Throughout this magical summer journey, the ‘Create 100 Campaign’ will unveil a treasure trove of inspired contributions, revealing the captivating stories that breathe life into these marvels. Prepare to be transported by musical performances with some of the greatest talents in the world. Venture into the captivating world of comic books, where vibrant illustrations spring to life, and immerse yourself in awe-inspiring recreations of iconic movie props that have left indelible marks on our hearts.

Among the esteemed contributors gracing this grand stage is the global icon of stardom, Beyoncé, whose creativity knows no bounds. Witness the genius of famed French fashion designer Christian Louboutin as he infuses his signature charm into this enchanting spectacle. Let the brilliance of Italian Global Creative Director for Swarovski, Giovanna Engelbert, add a radiant sparkle to this jubilation.

From the realm of music, Disney welcomes the virtuoso pianist Lang Lang, whose melodies will sweep you off your feet. American fashion pioneer Tommy Hilfiger strides onto the scene, fashioning his visionary touch into this tapestry of wonders. Celebrated Brazilian artist Vik Muniz unveils his captivating artwork, a tribute to the fusion of artistry and creativity.

Yet, the stars don’t end there! Global partners such as adidas, Pandora, and Coach illuminate this celebration with their one-of-a-kind offerings, adding their unique brushstrokes to this masterful canvas.

Representing the local creative community in this dazzling symphony is the remarkable Malaysian visual artist Red Hong Yi. Known as the “artist who paints without a brush,” she breathes life into her creation, honoring Disney’s 100th anniversary with an extraordinary piece of art. And there’s more! The celebration welcomes the next-generation bead artist Danielle Soong, who joins this harmonious chorus, crafting her own exquisite piece to mark this extraordinary occasion.
