Banana Republic launches capsule collection ahead of International Women’s Day

A celebration of females
International Women's Day is coming up on March 8 and Banana Republic is celebrating early with a new capsule collection...

March 8 marks International Women’s Day and to celebrate, Banana Republic has just unveiled a dedicated capsule collection. The American retailer has announced the release of a seven piece capsule, called the Equality Collection which features slogans across tote bags, pouches and T-shirts.

According to Fashion Network, the brand has teamed up with charity CARE “which focuses on fighting poverty and championing progress for women and girls around the world” with around Dhs20 (USD$5) from each piece being donated to the cause.

The brand’s Chief Marketing Officer, Mary Alderete, said in a statement, “Equality has always been at the core of our brand DNA. We are proud to lead a culture of equal advancement and empowerment of women, especially during this notable moment in women’s history.”

There’s no word yet as to whether or not the collection will be available in the brand’s Middle East stores but be sure to stay tuned to Buro. Middle East for updates. In the meantime, it’s a pretty good reason to put your Shop&Ship account to work…
