The Royal Mansour Marrakech: A luxury secret
Five awards in one month
As the saying goes, promise what you can deliver, but deliver more than you promise. Nowhere does that apply more than at the Royal Mansour Marrakech. The Moroccan hotel, which was commissioned by King Mohammed VI himself in 2010 is a majestic palace complete with bronze doors, which up until October, 2015, remained a luxury traveller's secret. Now the hotel is a multi-award-winning hot spot.
Just this October the Royal Mansour Marrakech nabbed five international (and highly prestigious) awards, including the Best Hotel in Africa Award at the well-respected Villegiature Awards in Paris. Then came the Best Luxury Hotel in Morocco Award at the World Luxury Hotel Awards in Hong Kong. Following those wins, the Royal Mansour Marrakech stole the show at the World Boutique Hotel Awards, winning three accolades in a single night including the most coveted: World's Best Boutique Hotel.
Highlights of the hotel include the exquisite craftsmanship with every nook and crany created by 1500 local artisans. Then there's the intricate lacy screens of the spa. Oh and did we mention that the 53 rooms, or in this case three-storey riads, are all serviced by up to 10 staff?!
It's not only the rooms that are a draw at this luxury hotel. The gastronomic choice is a standout with three restaurants overseen by three-Michelin Starred chef, Yannick Alleno, who also scooped Africa's Best Culinary Boutique Hotel.
Lavish, majestic and full of splendour, there is no doubt that the Royal Mansour Marrakech is officially on our must-visit list for 2016.
