The upcoming launch of the Karl Lagerfeld-designed hotel in Macau in 2017 is set to be the first of many, following the announcement that the fashion icon's eponymous brand is now entering the hospitality market. In partnership with Brandmark Collective, the Karl Lagerfeld Hospitality brand will be rolling out atelier real estate projects from hotels and residences to restaurants and social hotspots.

"You know, Gabrielle Chanel always said, 'I only make dresses I would wear.' And I make only rooms where I would like to sleep. It's as simple as that," Lagerfeld said of his first hotel project in Macau. "When I do a thing like this, I think, 'Would you live there or not? Do you want to wake up there? Do you think the bathroom is comfortable?' It's very childish thinking, but you know it's like the song 'My Way'." Whatever the project, expect only the finest bespoke designs as well as signature touches from Chanel's Creative Director. Watch this space...
