Jumeirah Vittaveli in the Maldives has collaborated with Emirati artist Maha al Mazrouei on a collection of bespoke art pieces for its uber luxe Royal Residence. The master painter, famed for her stamp design for the UAE's postal service in 1996, has infused her own interpretation of the luxury island into several oil-based artworks that feature a colour palette of predominantly blues and whites.

"I always feel a sense of calm when visiting the Maldivian islands – it's heaven on Earth," said Mazrouei. "I am so fascinated by god's creation and all the components that you see when exploring the island, I wanted to create an art collection exclusive to Jumeirah Vittaveli to reflect this unique experience."

The paintings are now integrated into the décor of the five-bedroom palatial palace, specifically the main entrance, the living area and the private spa, all of which depict the natural beauty of the Maldivian islands.
