London Fashion Week has officially begun. Here's where to stay, eat and shop in the British capital...

ow that New York Fashion Week has officially come to an end, the fash pack has landed in London to see runway collections by emerging and established British designers as they showcase their Spring/Summer '19 collections.

This season marks a particularly special one as Burberry will host Riccardo Tisci's debut collection for the brand (which will also be available 30 minutes after the show), the entire week will be fur-freeJW Anderson will present a co-ed show that will also feature the designer's exclusive capsule collection for Net-a-Porter and Victoria Beckham is returning to her roots to celebrate her eponymous brand's 10 year anniversary.

If you're landing in London for the shows, we've rounded up the top places to stay, shop, eat and visit around the city.

Where to stay

The London Edition

If you're looking for a grand experience, The Savoy is the way to go. Located just steps away from the ballet, the opera and the theatre of Covent Garden, The Savoy blends history and iconic elegance with its rooms and suites boasting an art deco interior. If you're keen on taking a break in between shows, The Savoy is a perfect spot to unwind and have your afternoon tea, but if you're looking for an even more relaxing way to unwind, the hotel has its very own beauty and fitness area, too.

Ham Yard Hotel

What to do

Windsor Castle 

You're going to want to take a trip to Windsor Castle. Reported to be the most popular attraction spot in the UK, thanks to the Royal Wedding, the castle has seen a boost of visitors since the May 19 occasion and if you're having Royal Wedding withdrawals like us here at Buro HQ, you can take the afternoon to tour the royal residence.

Covent Garden

One of the most popular entertainment spots in the world, Covent Garden is the place to be. Considered to be London's main theatre and entertainment area, you can roam around the streets and hit the shops, visit the Royal Opera House, indulge in one of the city's renowned eateries or watch your favourite musicals come to life at the West End.

Victoria and Albert Museum

The world's leading museum of art and design, the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), is located in the heart of London and with its fashion exhibitions, there's no better time to visit  than London Fashion Week. Set to stage the largest Christian Dior exhibition to date next February, the V&A is also home to a generous amount of artistic photographs and paintings,  and even has a comprehensive selection of fine jewellery collections from around the world.

The Victoria and Albert Museum is located at Cromwell Rd, Knightsbridge, London. 

Where to shop

Piccadilly Circus

Piccadilly Circus is perhaps the busiest and buzziest place in town, with its huge video screens and neon signs. It's also home to the London Pavilion and Criterion Theatre. Not only is it about the architecture, but the circus has plenty of connecting streets (such as Coventry, Regent and Piccadilly) that host high street flagship stores, small independent souvenir shops, Fortnum and Mason and the largest bookshop in Europe.

Oxford Street

Stretching from the West End of London to Marble Arch, Oxford Circus is one of Europe's busiest shopping streets with a number of popular brands housed here. From contemporary brands to the world's most recognised labels such as Zara, Gap, Nike and Adidas, you're spoilt for choice as Oxford Street is also home to Selfridges, where you can shop the many luxury brands up on offer.

Harrods

Fact: Harrods has everything you need. Sold to Qatari Holdings in 2010, the UK department store still reigns as one of the most luxurious shopping destinations in the world where you can shop brands including Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Alexandre Vauthier, Missoni, Tory Burch, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat or something to snack on, Harrods has a gourmet grocery, too.

Knightsbridge

Bordering the famous Hyde Park, Knightsbridge comes alive with several spots to get a bite to eat, and is also home to a huge Harvey Nichols store where you can spend your free hours shopping endless designer options, a slew of beauty products and gourmet food.

Where to eat

Bao Soho

With long queues surrounding its restaurant every night, Bao Soho offers its guests the best in Taiwanese dishes with authentic flavours and plenty of delicious desserts, too. Located in Carnaby, the space is perfect for an intimate dinner with a bit of buzz

Padella

If you're looking for the perfect place to meet in between fashion shows, Padella's modern bistro will do. With its short list of housemade pasta dishes and Italianate drinks, you can get a quick (and delicious) bite to eat to satisfy your cravings and keep you going for the rest of the day.

Barrafina

Due to its immense success at its original site on Soho's Dean Street, Barrafina opened up in Adelaide Street and Drury Lane in Covent Garden to satisfy demand. The restaurant offers guests authentic Spanish tapas and an a la carte menu that feature regional dishes from around Spain. With its cosy environment, open kitchen and marble-topped bar, Barrafina is also very Instagrammable and will boost your food flatlays on your feeds.
