Twitter launches new private group chat and in-app video function

The social media giant that is Twitter is delivering, as promised, the new and improved private group chat function, alongside the launch of the new in-app video function, for the keenest of speedy tweeters...

Twitter has launched some new improvements to its service, as promised in an announcement that was made back in November 2014. Two main introductions have been rolled out on the mega social media platform; the first of which is the ability to have private group chats, and the second is a native in-app video function.

Private messaging between individuals has long been available on the social media platform, but now that service has been extended to allow groups to have conversation away from the public stream. Perhaps taking a leaf from the functions of the vastly popular WhatsApp?

The other addition, is the ability to use the camera's video function natively within Twitter, which is designed to allow for speedier and more instant shares of real time happenings. Twitter's blog announcement described it like this: "But aside from just watching video more easily on Twitter, you should be able to record, edit and share your own videos natively on Twitter too. Alongside short looping Vine videos, we think you'll have fun sharing what's happening in your world through native video".

Are these improvements going to rock your Twitter world? Is this just what you were looking for or are there other improvements that you would like to see Twitter make?
