Google have just announced a new version of the Android operating system and it's "sweeter than ever". Oreo, as it's been called, follows on from earlier versions of the system, which have also been named after sweets: Nougat, Marshmallow, Lollipop, KitKat. What's more is Oreo will see a new "picture-in-picture" mode, which allows users to perform several tasks at the same time.

Google has also reported that users of smartphones and tablets, Pixel and Nexus, will be the first to access the new system. Other devices, think Samsung, LG, HTC, Huawei, Sony, Nokia and Motorola will have access to the update at the end of 2017.
