It's been a long time coming but Instagram has finally added two of the most asked-for features; liking comments and removing followers. While the move does put the popular social media platform closer into Facebook territory, it does allow for more user flexibility as well as engagement.

The new update sees the ability to like a comment by simply tapping a heart icon next to it and this, Instagram says, "lets you show support and encourages positivity throughout the community". For those moments that you wish to let the picture take the spotlight, a new 'Turn Off Commenting" option has also been added. As well, in a bid to enhance privacy controls, Instagram now allows users to remove their followers, providing a safe haven for sharing posts.

The new updates follow Instagram's recent evolution in which it introduced a shopping function, added a draft-saving option as well as increased its Stories functionalities. Then, discover the new YMOJI app by YSL Beauty.
