Apple has unveiled its new Shot on iPhone visual campaign that celebrates the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr. As seen through a collection of stunning astrophotography imagery that feature on billboards across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the campaign is designed to showcase the ease of lunar photography through the iPhone 7. A culmination of a month-long project by five local amateur photographers – Huda Bin Redha, Jameela Ahli, Iskandar Ahmed, Samy Olabi and Mohamed Almahroos – the campaign captures the moon in its different stages using only the mobile device and a telescope.

Speaking exclusively to Buro 24/7 Middle East about the project, Emirati Huda Bin Redha said: "When Apple first told me about it, I was shocked and honestly didn't think it was possible. But when I first saw the moon on the screen, it was breathtaking because the details were so clear and sharp. I even compared it to images that were taken from a professional camera and noticed that the iPhone 7 shots actually had greater detail."

Fellow photographer Iskandar Ahmed, shared his sentiment, saying, "The experience of capturing the moon with the iPhone 7 is beyond expectation. While many might say that technology has made things simpler, I'd argue that with added simplicity, you then have time to make things better."

Commenting on the opportunity to showcase her work on a grand scale in public, Bin Redha said, "The long process was worth it and I will most probably be in tears when I see the billboard."
