The next generation of iPhone has arrived. On September 7, 2016, the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the much-talked-about Apple AirPods were announced in San Francisco. Buro 24/7 Middle East's Editor in Chief, Shannon Wylie, was at the live announcement, where Apple's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller, confirmed the newest features of the evolved designs. Think a high gloss, mirror-like surface, in finishes aptly named jet black, black, gold, silver and rose gold.

Other features of the iPhone 7 include a new customisable home button and a water and dust resistant surface. When it comes to the camera, expect an image stabiliser, wider aperture, 12-mega pixels, two tone flash with four LED's, which now makes these new additions, "the best camera in an iPhone," confirmed Schiller.

Then there's the Apple AirPods. For months speculation circled regarding the removal of the analogue headphone jack. Today, that news was confirmed, with Schiller saying the move is a bid to ensure pairing and unpairing "is a thing of the past."

The iPhone 7 starts from Dhs2,599 and is available for pre-order from September 9.
