Hollywood actor and Omega brand ambassador Eddie Redmayne attended the opening night of the exclusive Omega House in Rio de Janeiro. Arriving with his wife Hannah, the guest of honour spoke about his excitement on the new opening as well as his maiden experience in Brazil.
"I was told that Omega House was going to be breath-taking and it is," said the Oscar winner. "It's going to be a great place to people-watch and hopefully see if I can spot a few Olympians." With regards to Brazil, he said, "I've never been to Brazil before. But this country has such a reputation for energy, for vibrancy, for culture, dance and music. But all of my expectations have been superseded."
Located at Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim on Ipanema Beach, the members-only OMEGA House has been designed to reflect the brand's identity including specially designated areas that showcase the brand's rich history and long-standing association with the Olympics. Overlooking the beach and featuring waterfalls as well as other stunning design elements, the Omega House is also set to see other exclusive events held in conjunction with the Rio Games.
Other notable attendees at the grand opening include His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and American actress Camilla Belle. While the house was being inaugurated, the Olympic Opening Ceremony was taking place.
