This morning, video giant Youtube confirmed its plans to offer a new ad-free subscription based services in a detailed email to the company's partners. YouTube's content creators will be given new terms of service, which will include the monetisation option. The updated terms for the Partner Program will see video creators receive 55% of the total net revenue from the new subscription fees – the same amount creators currently recieve from advertising revenue.

The new service is expected to please mobile users, who make up 50% of all watch time, who will be able to make use of the ad-free service that will work in similar vein to NetFlix. Although the new agreement will go into effect June 15, it is not yet clear if this means that the new ad-free platform will immediately be available to users.
