Uber continues its quest to transport the world's population as the San Fransisco-based company, that made a name for itself on the roads, is now taking to the water in a new venture – uberBOAT. The speedboat service will launch in Istanbul and will ferry passengers up and down the Bosphorus channel with one tap of an in-app button.

Even though Uber only launched in Turkey last year, it is already seeing the opportunity for growth in the country's biggest city. Prices for a boat-taxi ride will start at $19, which is markedly higher than the public transport ferry that takes the same route, however the private boat is set to take a fraction of the time.
