To celebrate the unofficial 'Back To The Future' day yesterday Nike announced that it will release the famous, and to-die-for, self-lacing shoes that we first saw in Back To The Future 2.

However, for now, it will only be auctioned at a charity event from which proceeds will go towards The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The official Twitter account for tweeted out a picture of Michael wearing a pair of the illusive sneakers.

In 2011, 1500 pairs were made and sold on eBay fetching thousands of dollars, sans the feature that makes this shoe the Nike Mag: self-lacing technology. This one has it all.

If you're a die-hard fan, then splashing out cash for these is definitely worth it. For the rest of us, Nike Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Parker offered hope when he said, "We started creating something for fiction and we turned it into fact, inventing a new technology that will benefit all athletes." This is real!

Great Scott! The Nike Mag has arrived
