The first phase of Sustainable City is slated to open in the third quarter of 2015 according to a new announcement. The company behind the ambitious AED1.1 billion project, Diamond Developers have revealed that phase one of its incredible five million square foot project will feature five new residential clusters. Each of which will feature 100 luxury villas, a mall, an equestrian centre and running, biking and horse riding tracks.

Phase two of the project will see the debut of an eco-resort, luxe country club, a school, science museum and the Sustainability Centre of Excellence open at the end of 2016.

Sustainable City is being built across 46 hectares in Dubailand and aims to accommodate around 2,700 residents. Its name refers to its commitment to address seven crucial environmental issues including 100% wastewater recycling, renewable energy production, solar-powered transport systems and urban farming to create herb, fruit and vegetable produce.
