Alexander Wang has designed a water bottle for Evian
Evian's fondness for high fashion collaborations is known, and now the soft drinks giant has tapped the ultimate cool man – Alexander Wang.
Wang has created two bespoke Evian water bottle designs, one in black and one in white, both featuring his signature barcode design. “There’s a little bit of irony to it,” said Wang.
“Mineral water is about everyday consumption but [also] premium dimensions with the iconic glass bottle. That’s something that’s close to Alex’s universe,” said Laurent Houel, Evian’s global brand director. “He’s also about everyday fashion that’s accessible and approachable, but with a very strong design integrity, so we really feel it’s a great match in terms of the spirit between brands.”
This marks Evian's 9th collaboration with a fashion designer, past designers have included Kenzo, and Lebanese designer Elie Saab.
"We don’t just live with clothes and shoes,” Wang told WWD. “We sit on furniture. We go to restaurants. We drink. We eat. To be able to take our brand and expand into lifestyle and work with partners that have perfected what they do is something I learn so much from and really stimulates me.”
The new Evian x Alexander Wang bottles come in two editions: glass (33cl, 75cl) and Prestige PET (33cl, 50cl). The water will make its debut at Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 16 show during New York Fashion Week this weekend and will then be available at select hotels, retails and restaurants.
