Airbnb is redefining our understanding of what a house-boat should be with its new limited edition property that is currently floating along the River Thames. Celebrating booming success in London, the ever quirky home sharing accommodation site has launched a fully functioning, two-up-two-down home, floating down stream.

The pale blue house weighs 70 tonnes comprises two bedrooms, a living room, a working bathroom, and it even has a planted garden complete with real grass, a doghouse and an apple tree.

"The Floating House is the ultimate celebration of home sharing and an unforgettable travel experience to bring to the UK," said James McClure, UK Country Manager of Airbnb. "London is already Airbnb's third largest city globally and one of the world's top tourist destinations. With new, clear rules on home sharing we expect more and more Londoners to open their homes to visitors from across the globe."

The home has been hosting a variety of community events and overnight stays throughout the week and will host one lucky winner for a private night's stay this weekend. The lucky one night resident of the floating house will also experience a luxury private dining experience with food personally prepared by Robert Ortiz, head chef of Peruvian and Michelin-starred restaurant Lima and Lima Floral.
