Buro 24/7 Middle East Review: Clinton Street Baking Company
New York's 'King of Brunch' arrives in Dubai
This week, Buro 24/7 Middle East had the pleasure of trying out an assortment of delicious dishes at New York's famed brunch spot in Dubai, Clinton Street Baking Company.
The opening marks the third city after Tokyo to welcome the restaurant phenomenon, with the concept in New York having guests wait up to three hours for a taste of its world famous recipes.
On entering the restaurant you will also be welcomed by the smell of delicious freshly baked goods at the take away counter from Choc-Chunk Scones to moist Banana Bread. While the menu ranges from unique dishes, such as Huevos Rancheros, Pancakes with Warm Maple Butter, Market Fish Tacos and its Sugar Bacon Burger.
With so many tasty offerings on the menu, we started off with the special Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, which was served up with a classic hollandaise sauce, ripe pieces of avocado and tomato, two crispy crab cakes and perfectly poached eggs, all resting upon the restaurant's famed toasted Buttermilk Biscuit. Up next was one of the Clinton Street Baking Company's signature dishes, the delightful sweet and salty combination of Fried Chicken and Waffles. A feast for the eyes, as well as the stomach, the dish came with divine warm maple butter syrup — the perfect companion for the Belgian vanilla buttermilk waffle and tender chicken.
With very little room for dessert, we decided on the Pancakes with wild Maine Blueberries and Warm Maple Butter, as well as a Chocolate Peanut-Butter Shake. The last dish arrived with three stacks of perfectly round — fluffy yet crispy on the outside — pancakes, with blueberries dropped in the batter as well as a sweet and sticky compote placed on top. Ending the stunning meal on a sweet note, we finished everything off with the Classic Extra Thick Shake made from chocolate ice cream and gooey peanut-butter... A must-try if you have the space!
The restaurant is filled with American style leather booths, in Clinton Street signature green and exposed New York style brickwork. One of the main focal points in the restaurant is the open window into the kitchen – allowing guests to admire the cooking up of the world famous dishes.
Dede and Neil, Founders of Clinton Street Baking Company, commented on their expansion to the Middle East, saying, "The food translates perfectly from our New York kitchen, in fact in certain areas the food translates better here in Dubai. We're blown away by the sophistication of the food industry, along with the eclectic people and talents that Dubai has to offer. We're also very intent on replicating what we do in New York here in Dubai, and are confident we are able to do that."
Clinton Street Baking Company Dubai is open from 8am until 4pm, daily.
