Commissioned by Paris City Hall to research the potential for green high-rise architecture in the French capital, Vincent Callebaut has come up with eight unique proposals titled '2050 Paris Smart City'. The eight green tower typologies designed by Callebaut will each integrate different elements of nature and renewable energy within the dense city area.

The study was carried out in collaboration with engineers Setec Bâtiment, with the buildings designed to generate energy, produce food, filter smog, and much more. There will be the 'Antismog Towers', 'Photosynthesis Towers', 'Bamboo Nest Towers', 'Honeycomb Towers', 'Farmscraper Towers', 'Mangrove Towers', 'Mountain Towers' and 'Bridge Towers'. With the futuristic buildings to be built around iconic locations around Paris, from the Gare Du Nord train station to the Massena district.
