52-year-old entrepreneur, Barry Jackson, has created a design that could help thousands of people make their first step on the property ladder. The ingenious design is hinged on hexagonal pods, which act as rooms. The aptly named – HiveHaus – pods are each 100 square-feet and can be assembled with your choice of walls, doors and windows, in any configuration, to create an easily assembled home in a matter of days. And what's more, a home can cost as little as £55,000. 

"The more I developed this idea, the more I saw that this could be developed for good and hopefully help people who can't get on the housing ladder." Said Jackson.

The HiveHaus is not yet in large scale production, but that is certainly Jackson's ambition. And they don't just need to be used for residences, Jackson would like people to consider them for studio spaces, offices, garden sheds and guest houses. Take a look at the introductory video below...
