Hermès launches a carbon bicycle
Two ultra-light models created with the legendary company Time
French fashion house Hermès has released its first carbon bicycle. The ultra-lightweight design is available in three colours – black, red and white, and two model options – Le flâneur d'Hermès and Le Flâneur sportif d'Hermès. Both feature leather seat covers and handlebar grips.
The bicycles are handmade in France, by the famous local company, Time. Chapter Hermès Horizons' Francois Dore said he was looking for people with incredibly detailed experience to create not just a decorative object, but a real bike – a simple, efficient, easy to use and of course elegant. Founded in 1987 by Roland Cuttin, the firm Time fit the bill. It's been making professional cycling apparatus for years, frequently used in the Tour de France race.
The Hermès carbon bicycle goes on sale in November.
