Geneva Days 2017: LVMH novelties you need to see now
Hublot and Tag Heuer
This week, the watch-making industry congregates in Geneva as the world's horological masters present their latest creations. While SIHH 2017 is the platform for brands under the Richemont Group to unveil their 2017 novelties, three brands under LVMH – Hublot, Tag Heuer and Zenith – also shared the spotlight by holding their own exhibition named Geneva Days 2017, held at Lake Léman.
Taking the lead at the showcase was Hublot with no less than six new offerings including the Big Bang Unico Magic Sapphire as well as the new Big Bang All Black models. With the former, the maison once again showcases its technical mastery, specifically in manipulating sapphire. The latest addition to the Sapphire line sees a case that is more visible than its predecessors as well as a heightened resistance level thanks to its enhanced construction and assembling techniques.
Meanwhile, an explosion of colours awaits the watch connoisseur with the introduction of new pieces in the Spirit of the Big Bang All Black collection. Four colours – red, orange, green or yellow – have been splashed onto the line-up, bringing the minute and second hands as well as index markers to life. Alligator leather straps in matching colours round off the vibrant new models.
Other new unveilings from Hublot include the Big Bang Sugar Skull Fluo, the Big Bang Unico GMT, the Big Bang Ferrari and the Big Bang MECA-10, which is limited to only 200 pieces.
Specialist watchmaker Tag Heuer also unveiled several key timepieces for 2017 including the new Aquaracer editions and the updated Chronograph Carrera Calibre 16 black titanium, created to commemorate the model's 10-year anniversary. However, the crème de le crème from Tag Heuer at Geneva Days has to be the new Carrera Heuer 01 Full Black Matt Ceramic, the first in the brand's stable that is entirely made from matt black ceramic, from the case and the lugs to the bezel and the bracelet.
