It's going to be a busy year ahead for Vacheron Constantin. The luxury watchmaker revealed its new 2018 novelties at SIHH today and there's plenty to be excited about.

The brand's classic Overseas collection has received a new update with three new references, two in steel and one in pink gold, with the added addition of interchangeable straps, whilst the Dual Time model is fitted with a brand new calibre, 5100 DT, with 60 hours power reserve. The Perpetual Calendar model has been upgraded, too, with a six-sided bezel and a 1120 QP movement that makes it one of the thinnest perpetual calendars in existence.

The new novelties will arrive in store within the next three months, however the launches we're most excited for are the new Métiers d'Art Les Aerostiers collection and the FiftySix collection.

The Les Aerostiers collection pays tribute to the first humans to fly in hot air balloons and features five different models that represent five different flights taken between 1783 and 1785 in France. Each of the miniature depictions on the self-winding timepiece is hand-engraved and it comes in five colours with an elegant alligator leather strap. In keeping with the theme of the collection, there are only five pieces available of each.

The FiftySix collection is an homage to an iconic model that was first presented in 1956. Made with sapphire glass and in three automatic complications — self-winding, day date and complete calendar — the collection features both gold and steel pieces for the first time. This collection will be released worldwide on September 1, 2018.
