Swiss luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin has extended its Classico Collection with the special Year of the Rooster timepiece. Limited to only 88 pieces – the number eight is seen as auspicious in Chinese culture – the exclusive new watch is available in 18-karat rose gold and has been created through a very rare watchmaking process called champlevé, a centuries-old technique that only a handful of maisons have truly perfected. Here, master craftsmen work directly onto the dial, shaping the intricate details before the colours of the enamels are precisely added, melted and polished to result in the vibrant end product.
