Just days after Tag Heuer introduced its second generation smartwatch, watchmaking specialist Montblanc has unveiled its own offering in the shape of the Summit. Inspired by the famed 1858 collection, the new timepiece marks the maison's first foray into luxury digital horology and offers contemporary conveniences – think fitness tracker, heart rate monitor, voice-enabled text, wifi, music and navigation – all housed within a 46mm stainless steel case or titanium case.

While the Summit runs on Android Wear 2.0, it is also compatible with iOS devices. Aesthetically, the watch offers customisation courtesy of its interchangeable straps, from calfskin and rubber to vivid block colours and sfumato — a gradient of tones.
