Luxury watch brand, IWC Schaffhausen, are known for producing a show stopping gala, as part of the Salon de la Haute Horlogerie watch show. But last night's gala in Geneva was a star studded affair on a slightly muted note.

Brand ambassadors Ewan McGregor and Cate Blanchett were not in attendance, and breaking with tradition further, Kevin Spacey was not on hand to fulfil his usual role as master of ceremonies. However, Emily Blunt, who has been busy in her role as a new brand ambassador, which last month saw a busy schedule at the Dubai International Film Festival, was joined by Christoph Waltz to represent the brand's star power. Moritz Bleibtreu stepped in as the host for the night.

Other well known faces in attendance in a less official capacity were models Karolina Kurkova and Adriana Lima, and F1 champions Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg and actor James Marsden as well as singer Ronan Keating.

The evening's theme was  – Journey to the Stars – in honour of the 75th anniversary of IWC's best-selling Portuguese watch range. A presentation on the 'celestial origins of time' formed part of the evening's entertainment schedule, as well as illusionists and Chinese drummers who entertained the crowd. The headline entertainment was an appearance from Mick Hucknall, Faces frontman and the former lead singer of Simply Red, whose famous hit Stars was a perfectly suited soundtrack to the celestial themed evening.
