At SIHH 2017, luxury Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen introduced its new women's timepiece, the Da Vinci Automatic 36. The coveted watch, which fuses traditional design cues from the much-loved collection with more effeminate elements, marks a more focused approach for its discerning female clientele. "With the new Da Vinci collection, we are consciously trying to anchor the brand in the minds of women, who account for a significant proportion of watch lovers," said Franziska Gsell, Chief Marketing Officer at IWC Schaffhausen.

The new approach saw the maison opting for a round and smaller case alongside a bezel bedecked with diamonds as well as rounded crowns. Meanwhile, the clean aesthetic of the dial was injected with a pop of colour courtesy of the blue seconds hand. At the back, the Da Vinci Automatic 36 bears the engraved "flower of life" motif, reflecting the pursuit of stunning geometry. To round it off, the timepiece is complemented by an alligator strap, designed by Santoni and available in raspberry, bronze, dark brown or dark blue.
